Actor Peter Capaldi continues to be introduced because the new star of BBC sci-fi series Doctor Who.

The 55-year-old Glasgow-born star would be the twelfth actor to experience the Physician, changing outgoing lead Matt Cruz.

Capaldi is better noted for his role as foul-mouthed spin-physician Malcolm Tucker within the BBC series The Thick from it.

"It is so wonderful to not bare this secret any more, but it is been so fantastic," he stated following the news was revealed on the live BBC One show.

The actor have been the bookmakers' favourite to defend myself against the function, with betting on him becoming the following Physician suspended on Friday.

It's not the very first time Capaldi has made an appearance on the program - he performed Roman merchant Caecilius in 2008 Physician Who adventure The Fires of Pompeii.
